Down a quiet lane...

Various images....in the heart of a pretty village is the 12th century church of Whitbourne. Facing the church is the Olde Rectory which is the home of your hosts, Cliff and Gilly Poultney.

This secluded conservation area borders the beautiful counties of Herefordshire and Worcestershire and with the River Teme just ten minutes stroll away, it is the perfect setting for five luxury holiday cottages.

The Rectory's 16th century barn and coach houses have been thoughtfully converted to provide these five stylish and totally individual properties.

Hooch Hall, The Barn, the Coach House, The Fodder Store and the Potting Shed retain many of their original features and sit in the Rectory's wonderful rural grounds. Each property benefits from its own private courtyard garden with feature lighting, a must for outdoor dining both day and evening. The communal herb garden and the apple and walnut orchard beyond are for all guests to enjoy (scrumping is actively encouraged!).

Inside, the properties have been designed, decorated and hand finished in styles sympathetic to the buildings' former origins. Much of the furniture has been hand painted and gilded by Gilly, a talented interior designer, who provided all the input to each interior.

Just a mile from The Olde Rectory, nestled in the tiny hamlet of Tedney is a sixth property, Tedney Lodge. Newly constructed in 2006 in traditional style, Tedney Lodge, with it's green oak detail and weathered hand-made brick exterior, has a look of timelessness, blending seamlessly with the unspoilt countryside beyond.
